So many times in my profession I've been contacted by people in distress who are suffering. And on many of these occasions, I have felt compelled to discount or even give the treatment for free. ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
I chose my profession because I care and therefore I don't do this anymore.
Take a moment and think about the cost of your health and put a value on it.
I struggle to understand where the logic is when many will choose to spend regularly on hair/nail appointments, and fine dining, but question the similar amount spent on a visit to the clinic!
I'm not criticizing life choices, I do respect the decision to make those choices. But when there is no willingness to make a sacrifice to ensure we are healthy, whether it be making an appointment with me, a chiropractor, massage therapist, a personal trainer, or a naturopathic doctor - it makes me question how committed we truly are to the process.
You have to be willing to invest in your health. I have two children, and I don't have personal health insurance. I understand the financial pressures associated with health costs, but if I had to choose between a nice car or pain management so I could do all the things I want to do with my kids, I would always choose my health.
Maintaining, instead of just treating, physical and mental health is integral to our well-being.
So the next time you ask a healthcare provider for a discount, for whatever the reason, ask yourself why you're not asking your hairdresser, mechanic, nail technician, or grocer to give you a discount, because their fee is not covered in your budget. ๐คจ
